Base Camp was a unique arts and music venue, located in the old centre of Middlesbrough on Exchange Square. The venue hosted many bands and musicians- some at the start of their journey and some established artists. But there was so much else going on; rave nights, alternative cabaret and comedy, exhibitions, workshops and classes and food events. I consider myself privileged to have been on hand in the final year of this venue to document the life and activity that went on there until it eventually closed in November 2022. It is indeed a very sad loss to the town.
